Lavender Akinyi Ogilo, the employer implicated in the attempted murder of Shanny Melza Atieno, who fell from the fourth floor of Jumetrah Heights in Kiambu, has been arrested and is currently under investigation by Kiambu East Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). 

The arrest follows a series of inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fall, which has raised serious concerns about employee treatment and safety in domestic environments.

Shanny Melza Atieno, the victim in this shocking incident, is currently receiving specialized care at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). 

According to orthopedic surgeon Paul Mang’oli, Atieno was brought into the hospital in a psychologically traumatized state, with multiple severe injuries, including lacerations and severed tendons in her lower limbs. 

"She had extensive injuries, including damage to her mandible and lost several teeth due to the impact," Mang’oli said.

Doctors at KNH are continuing their assessment and treatment of Atieno’s condition, with MRI scans planned to evaluate the full extent of her injuries.

 "We need to conduct MRIs to understand the injury’s scope and determine whether further surgery is necessary," Mang’oli added.

Investigators have collected several pieces of evidence from the scene, including a knife and a cooking stick, which are believed to have been used in the alleged assault. 

CCTV footage from the building is also being examined, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation.

According to the suspect, Lavender Akinyi Ogilo, the incident occurred after a domestic dispute led Atieno to allegedly jump from the building. 

However, this claim is under scrutiny as detectives continue to piece together the events leading up to the fall.

As Shanny Atieno continues to receive care at KNH, detectives are awaiting results from DNA samples taken from evidence recovered at the scene, including a spoon and knife. 

The investigation is ongoing.
