A family in Nyatieg village Suna East sub county is living on tenterhook following the incessant attacks by unknown arsonist.

For the past one week, an unidentified person has attempted to torch several structures in the home with the latest incident reported Saturday afternoon.

Lucy Awuor, a family member who spoke said the identified arsonist set fire on one of the houses at the homestead but fortunately the fire was put out.

She said the suspects returned on Sunday morning and torched two structures but the fire was put out by the family in collaboration with the neighbor.

Awuor said they are worried that the suspect might come back again and set fire the houses and therefore they appeal for the intervention of the police.

Area chief Philp Kisiagro confirmed that the unidentified arsonist had tried to burn three structures at the same homestead with the latest reported Sunday morning.

Kisiagro said one of the children in the affected home spotted the suspect from a far distance while he was escaping into a nearby sugarcane plantation. The area chief said they are pursuing the suspect.
