Siaya: Woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death presents herself to the police

A 28-year-old woman is being held at Siaya police station where she presented herself after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death in Mur-Ngiya sub-location, Siaya County Saturday night.

Vivian Akoth is said to have attacked and stabbed her 35-year-old boyfriend Charlton Obare over alleged infidelity.

According to the Assistant Chief of Mur-Ng’iya sub-location, Grace Otieno, the deceased is said to have arrived home at around 9.00 pm together with his other friend Reagan then the girlfriend followed them immediately.

She stated that in the event while leaving, Reagan heard a commotion and Vivian immediately passed him in the dark while being chased by Charlton whom she had already stabbed on the chest.

The Assistant Chief revealed that Charlton was overwhelmed and fell down.

Otieno added that on realizing that Charlton had fallen, Vivian called Reagan to confirm his status, then sent a motorbike to take him to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

 

While confirming the incident, the Assistant Chief stated that the police visited the scene and took the body to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary and by that time Vivian had disappeared.

They later discovered that Vivian, who is a mother of one, surrendered herself to Siaya police station where she is currently in custody as investigations begin into the matter.  

Otieno took the opportunity to encourage youth to find amicable ways of solving disputes.
