Siaya: Police launch investigations after an assistant chief was murdered by unknown assailants
Police in Rarieda, Siaya County are investigating the death of the assistant chief of Memba sub-location, Moses Mbeda, who was murdered by unknown people on Saturday night.
Mbeda died around 1 a.m. when the unknown assailants attacked him at his home and hacked him.
According to Siaya Police Commander Serah Koki, the administrator is said to have gone to a latrine within his home when he was attacked and seriously hacked on the neck.
The police boss said the assistant chief was immediately rushed to the nearby Lwak Mission hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of the severe injuries that he had sustained.
“Police and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched investigations to establish the murderers and apprehend the assailants,” Koki said.
Mbeda’s body is at the Lwak Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
