Police in Bondo, Siaya County have launched investigations into an incident where a 21-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband over suspected infidelity.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident happened at Uhanya beach in Bondo on Thursday night.
The body of the woman who has been identified as Stella Adongo was found in a pool of blood in their rental house.
“The body was found last night. This is after she was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Ben Ogweno over suspected infidelity,” Kimaiyo said.
The incident was reported by Usenge Assistant Chief Manasseh Osuri.
Preliminary investigations established that the husband, who is a fisherman, accused his late wife of having an affair with another man.
“The woman’s body had multiple injuries on the head, face, right thigh and the abdomen, an indication that the suspect had assaulted her using crude weapons, leading to her death.”
Kimaiyo stated that the suspect has since gone into hiding but police are in pursuit of him.
The woman’s body was taken to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem as investigations continue.
