Siaya: Investigations commence after a middle aged man was found dead in his house
Police in Ugunja, Siaya County are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man who was found dead in his house.
Samuel Karume's body was found on Tuesday night in his house located in West Uholo location.
Preliminary investigations show that he died under unclear circumstances.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident was reported to Ugunja police station by the man's wife, Josephine Achieng.
"The matter was reported by his wife who said that her husband came home from Kisumu complaining that he was unwell," Kimaiyo said.
She told the police that the deceased was recently treated for malaria and had just retired to bed only to develop a difficulty in breathing.
He stated that in the event, the wife called neighbors but upon returning, she found her husband dead.
Kimaiyo stated that the body was later removed to Rang’ala mission hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
