"In hospital for my surgery, I thank you all for the love and prayers. All will be well in Jesus’ name

Chameleone has been unwell since late last year when he was admitted at a hospital in Uganda. He was then transferred to the US for further medical care.

At the time, he shared a message of gratitude to his fans;

This festive season marks a first for me - spending it away from the stage and away from all of you, my beloved fans. Unfortunately, my hospitalization has disrupted our annual tradition of celebrating together through music.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the promoters who have consistently believed in me and to the fans who have always shown up to support me. Unfortunately, I’ll be taking a temporary break from performing until I’ve made a full recovery.

I’m deeply thankful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and well-wishes from my fans, friends, and family during my hospital stay. I also appreciate the exceptional care I received from Nakasero Hospital.

A special thank you to my dear friend Juliet Zawedde, who selflessly sacrificed her holiday to accompany me to the United States for further treatment.

To everyone who has stood by me, I thank you. I will return stronger and better, God willing.

For God and my country.

Jose is said to be battling acute pancreatis.

His son, Abba Marcus, shared the news in a TikTok video, opening up about his father’s health issues after he was hospitalized on December 12, 2024, after falling ill suddenly.

Marcus explained that his father’s long battle with alcohol addiction has led to serious health problems, including weight loss, as medics also issued a warning about how long he has to live, should he fail to heed their medical advice to stop alcohol consumption.
