Ruth K Denies Mulamwah Did Ruracio, Says They Held Introduction: "Nilikuwa Na Ball"

In October 2023, the couple held a lively and colourful event that had many Kenyans convinced they had officially tied the knot.

The joyous occasion was filled with energetic dancing, cultural flair, and smiles all around—leading many to believe it was their traditional wedding.

However, in a recent video on her YouTube channel, Ruth K revealed that the ceremony wasn’t a traditional wedding or Ruracio (dowry payment ceremony), as many had assumed.

“Sisi hatukuwa tunajua huezi fanya Ruracio ukiwa na ball, na tulikuwa tushawambia wazazi dates, but they said it was impossible,” Ruth shared.

(Translation: “We didn’t know you cannot hold a Ruracio while pregnant. We had already informed our parents about the dates, but they said it was not allowed.”)

At the time, Ruth had not informed her family that she was expectant, which added a layer of complexity to the situation.

In many communities, it is considered taboo or improper to perform the dowry ceremony when the bride-to-be is pregnant.

“After learning about this, we had to change our plans, which led to the introduction ceremony being held two weeks after the originally planned date,” she added.

Breakup Controversy and Netizen Reactions

Ruth’s explanation comes amid intense online debate following her alleged breakup with Mulamwah. The comedian recently announced their split on social media, but not everyone is buying it—many believe it’s a classic case of clout chasing, especially ahead of Mulamwah’s upcoming show.

The skepticism grew when one curious follower commented:

“You’ve broken up, and yet bride price was paid? They even did their traditional wedding when she was pregnant.”

The comment caught Ruth’s attention and prompted her to post the video, setting the record straight once and for all.

“Their relationship was so beautiful. It’s sad that they’re doing this, especially now that they have a child together.”

“Why do relationships always get tough when a child is involved? It's becoming common among celebs lately—this should be studied.”
