The body of a woman was found lying on the roadside off Ngong Road in Karen, Nairobi.
The lifeless body was discovered on Tuesday, August 6 evening by pedestrians.
Police said the body had no visible injuries.
However, the team that visited the scene at the border of Ngong and Karen and near a bar said there was a clutch next to the body.
It is not clear if she had disabilities, police said.
Investigators said the victim looked about 50 years old.
At the scene, a kitchen knife with no blood marks, a pair of rubber shoes, a red scarf and a clutch were recovered beside the body.
Police suspect the woman was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene. The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are open to all theories on the possible cause of the death including murder, natural death and even suicide.
“We do not know what happened for now. We are open to all theories,” he said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
Elsewhere, police are holding a woman who allegedly stabbed and seriously wounded her husband in a domestic fight in Nakuru Town.
The victim is nursing wounds in hospital after the Monday night incident, police said.
The incident happened in the Game Park View area in Mwariki Sub Location.
Neighbours said they realized their neighbour was screaming for help before they rushed to the scene.
It was then they realized the victim aged 29 had allegedly been stabbed by his wife using a broken glass after an argument.
The woman told police the man had threatened to attack her prompting the confrontation.
The woman broke a bottle and used it to stab him in the left side of the chest.
He was quickly rushed to PGH Nakuru for medical treatment, police said.
The suspect was arrested and is in custody pending arraignment.
