Police in Migori County have arrested a middle-aged woman accused of burning her husband with hot water before attacking him with a panga at Kadar-Posi village in Uriri.
North Kanyamkago area chief Silvance Owiti said Evance Odhiambo was attacked by his wife Emilly Otieno on Saturday night at around 9 p.m., leaving him with serious burn and cut injuries.
Owiti said the suspect poured hot water on her husband before she picked a panga and cut him severally on the head and other parts of the body.

He said the neighbors rushed the survivor to Migori Level Four Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment as the suspect remains in police custody.
“We are yet to establish the motives behind the attack, but preliminary investigations have established that the woman attacked her husband because she heard that he was planning to marry a second wife,” the chief added.
