Police in Kiambaa constituency Kiambu County have arrested a man suspected of killing an eight-year-old boy and injuring a woman in the Ndenderu area. 

According to police, the man managed to get into the home of the victim where he hacked the boy to death and attempted to kill a house help who raised alarm alerting the neighbours. 

The suspect later on attempted to flee via a window but he fell into a forty-foot pit near the house where police found him and had a hard time getting him out, assisted by Kiambu residents. 

Kiambaa police commander Pius Mwanthi explained that the man also tried to attack the boy's mother who is believed to be the man's ex-lover but she managed to escape the attack and recorded a statement with the police 

The injured woman is receiving treatment at Kiambu Level 5 hospital while the body of the boy was taken to Kihara mortuary. 

The angry residents had to be calmed by the police to avoid lynching the man as they condemned this kind of action. 

The residents advised that in case of marital disputes, it's better for one of the parties to just walk away peacefully. 

This incident comes merely a week after an ex-husband allegedly attacked his ex-wife and her lover in Kiambaa constituency leaving them in a critical state.
