Kericho: Shock as Human Head is Found in a Cooking Pot

Protests erupted after residents found the severed head of a middle-aged man in a sufuria inside a house in Koisagat, Kericho County.

Later, they discovered the torso in a thicket two kilometers away.

Residents accused a local businessman of orchestrating the murder, claiming he was responsible for the ongoing insecurity in the area.

The protest disrupted activities at Koisagat Market.

Jefferson Kirui, a Koisagat resident, revealed that a child woke up to prepare tea and discovered the head in the sufuria.

Kirui said they were shocked by the incident and screamed asking for help.

“At around 5am, the child picked a sufuria to make tea but found the head inside. We saw the head and screamed out of shock,” Kirui said.

Other Victims

Another resident, Markt Too said there is another victim who lost his hands under similar circumstances.

Too explained that the incidents happened almost on the same day and is receiving treatment at Kericho Referral Hospital.

“This one is gone; he has been killed. There is another person at Kericho Referral Hospital who has no hands. These incidents happened on the same day,” Too said.

Security Officers Accused of Colluding with Suspect

The residents accused the security officers of negligence and collusion with the local businessman who is said to be behind the murder.

They stated that authorities released the suspect immediately after every arrest.

Brian Ngetich said the suspect boasted to residents that they could not hold him accountable or punish him for his actions.

Ngetich said the residents feared the suspect would target them all if the law failed to hold him accountable.
