Kaluma Boy Pays Tribute To Betty Bayo

TikToker Vincent Kaluma, popularly known as Kaluma Boy, has shared a deeply touching message about death just hours after attending the burial of gospel singer Betty Bayo.

In a video posted on his TikTok page on Thursday, November 20, 2025, Kaluma is seen outside a tent at Ndumberi Stadium, where Betty’s burial was taking place, looking happy as he interacted with his fans.

In the post, he reflected on how death has recently become so unpredictable, urging his fans to live life to the fullest, as they never know when their time might come.

Kaluma Boy, who rose to fame after TikTokers travelled to Othaya in their thousands to support him and fundraise for his ailing father, drew on Betty’s own words, “11th hour,” which refers to the moment God intervenes, to describe the unpredictability of death.

In the short clip, he is also seen reading excerpts from Betty’s eulogy while playing Tuzo Jeromini’s song “Utupe Nguvu Baba”, leaving his fans with mixed reactions.

At the same time, Kaluma Boy paid tribute to Betty’s soul, acknowledging that the vast legacy she leaves behind will continue to inspire and be celebrated for years to come.

“You also do not know your 11th hour. Betty Bayo, we shall celebrate your legacy,” he wrote, adding crying emojis.

Kaluma Boy was among a large contingent of TikTokers who travelled to Kiambu to pay their final respects to the beloved songstress, who passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, after a brief battle with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

The funeral drew an impressive gathering of celebrities, with Kikuyu gospel singers in full attendance, including Shiru Wa GP, Njoki Wa Ndegwa, Ngaruiya Junior, Loise Kim, Elder David Kigomo, and many others, all coming together to honour her legacy.

The ceremony unfolded at Ndumberi Stadium, filled with mourners and heartfelt tributes, before moving to Betty’s home in Mugumo Estate for the private interment.

Only close friends and family were allowed inside the homestead, where the singer, known for iconic hits such as “11th Hour” and “Busy Busy”, was laid to rest precisely at 6 pm.

The burial was officiated by Bishop Michael Wanderi of the Christian Foundation Fellowship, where Betty had faithfully ministered for years.

During the service, Bishop Wanderi also announced that a special concert in Betty’s honour will be held on December 5, 2025, responding to artistes’ calls for a grander occasion to celebrate her remarkable career, which spanned more than two decades.

“Evangelist Wangunjiri received a very good revelation while we were still here, and she informed me and Bishop Mwangi Zakayo that, although we have eulogised and mourned Betty very well despite not being from the same church, they have decided that we hold one mega Kesha with all artistes at our CFF church on 5 December,” Wanderi said.
