Kenyan content creator and family man Kabi wa Jesus has opened up about a deliberate decision he made when purchasing their first piece of property—registering it under his wife Milly’s name.
Kabi, who shares his life and marriage journey on the popular WaJesus Family YouTube channel, said the move was intentional to protect their children’s future.
“The first time we bought our property, I put it on her name because of the children, just in case anything would happen,” he revealed at a family cooking show.

A Matter of Trust and Security
According to Kabi, property and investments should serve family security above all else.
He explained that placing the title deed under Milly’s name was not only a sign of trust but also a way to ensure that, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, his children would remain secure.
“When we bought our first property, I deliberately registered the title deed in my wife’s name,” Kabi added. “For me, it was about ensuring that if anything were to happen, my children would be secure.”
The WaJesus couple has built a loyal following online by documenting their marriage, parenting journey, and faith.
What stood out for many is how Kabi’s decision reflects a growing mindset among younger couples in Kenya, where property ownership is increasingly viewed not just as an asset and as a safety net for generations to come.

For Kabi, safeguarding his children’s future outweighed societal stereotypes that often discourage men from registering assets under their wives’ names.

Their openness frequently sparks conversations, with this revelation adding to ongoing debates about love, trust, and financial transparency in relationships.
Mixed Reactions From Fans
Fans quickly weighed in, with some praising Kabi for what they called a selfless and forward-thinking decision. “That’s a real man—protecting his family first,” one fan commented.
Others, however, questioned whether placing property solely under a partner’s name could lead to complications, suggesting such steps should be accompanied by professional legal guidance.
As though many questioned the assumption why many think that the father's side is wicked. .
