A middle aged woman from Eldoret has been sentenced to four years in prison for killing her husband.
Judge Reuben Nyakundi of the High Court in Eldoret found that the prosecution had proven beyond reasonable doubt that Abigael Yego killed Livingston Kamau on June 17, 2019 at Moi's bridge in Uasin Gishu County.
He said that the incident resulted from an argument between the couple, who had sired a four-month-old baby.
Further, the judge acknowledged receiving a letter from the deceased's father, Josphat Mwangi, who accepted Yego's apology over the tragedy.
The children's office also submitted a report in court saying that the four-month-old baby had developed problems and should stay with his mother to continue breastfeeding him as she serves her term.
Yego has 14 days to appeal the court's judgement.
