Comedienne Millicent Ayuwa, alias Dem Wa, Facebook has unveiled plans to have children with her boyfriend while dismissing rumours that he comes from her native village in Trans Nzoia.

Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Thursday, October 9, 2025, she clarified that she met her partner in Nairobi, not in her home region, and that their relationship has been ongoing for nearly three years.

“Yes, it is my boyfriend; I cannot go wrong. And no, my boyfriend is not from my village in upcountry Bungoma. I met him here in Nairobi. I cannot say exactly which part of Nairobi he is from. Our relationship is private,” she shared.

Dem Wa Facebook explained that they initially became friends while she was living in Kayole, Nairobi, and began dating after almost a year of friendship.

She emphasised that her boyfriend is not a public figure and works in a private capacity, declining to disclose his exact place of origin, but confirming that he is not from Kayole.

“If you want to see his face, you will see it through our future children. That will show where he lives and what he does for work,” she said.

Addressing the rumours surrounding children, she revealed that they have discussed having kids together, and she would welcome the idea when the time comes.

She noted that those curious about his appearance would eventually see him through their children, highlighting that their relationship is private and grounded in mutual respect.

“We have been together for around two to three years. He is not a public figure, and I cannot disclose the exact place he comes from. He is a friend of mine, and I was living in Kayole at the time. He is not from Kayole, and he does not know Kayole. We were friends for almost a year before we started dating. He eventually opened up to me that he wanted a family, and I said yes,” she added.

Mum’s marriage

The comedienne’s statement comes just days after her mum used her 20-year marriage to clap back at critics who question whether long-term marriages can survive in today’s world.

Speaking in a video shared on the comedienne’s YouTube page on Saturday, September 20, 2025, she narrated that she and her husband did not spend long dating as many young couples do today.

She noted that after meeting, their relationship moved swiftly, and within a month, they were married.

“I did not date my husband for a long time like people do today. We met and got married just one month later. When we first met, my husband’s mother told him that he could not let me go, and she held on to that belief,” she said.

She added that her husband’s mother played a pivotal role in ensuring the union endured, observing her closely during her early encounters and insisting to her son that she was the right partner.

She said their initial connection began during a choir performance, where she passed by, and her future mother-in-law would regularly remind her son about her, reinforcing that she was the one for him.

“Our connection began when I was singing in a choir, and she would often watch me and remind her son about me, insisting that I was the one. Now, we have been married for over 20 years.”
