
Busia: 2 high school kids arrested with 23 kgs of bhang worth ksh 690,000

Police in Busia County have arrested two high school students for being in possession of bhang with an estimated street value of Ksh.690,000.
The offenders, a 17-year-old Form Four student and his 16-year-old Form Three accomplice, were apprehended at Suo roadblock by detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) leading a multi-agency operation.
The duo had reportedly boarded a Guardian Angel bus en-route to Nairobi from Busia when they were intercepted at the roadblock.
"Acting on a tip-off, a vigilant multi-agency team stationed at the Suo roadblock intercepted the bus. A meticulous search ensued, leading to the discovery of five bales of cannabis, weighing a total of 23 kilograms, cleverly concealed in the students’ bags," the DCI said in a statement.
"The street value of the seized cannabis is estimated at Ksh.690,000."
The suspects are currently being detained at Busia Police Station pending arraignment.
