Bomet: 9-year Old Girl Dies After Getting Beaten For Stealing Bananas
A nine-year-old girl has died while her 13-year-old brother is nursing serious injuries at the Longisa County Referral Hospital in Bomet County after they were assaulted by their mother for allegedly sneaking into their neighbor's garden and stealing pieces of banana fruit.
In a police report, the suspect, Joan Chepkemoi Rono, 34, a resident of Taboino village in Konoin, allegedly used a wooden rod to beat them.

They both sustained serious physical injuries before they were rushed to Longisa hospital.
The deceased, Joan Chepkoech, lost her life after being admitted to the facility with blood oozing from her mouth and a physically swollen face, while her brother had serious physical wounds all over his body.
Police have arrested their mother, who was at the facility.
