Bomet: 7 suspects who recorded themselves gang raping a woman have been arrested

.Police in Bomet County on Thursday, April 11 arrested seven suspects who recorded themselves gang-raping a woman.
This comes after the video of the men gang-raping the woman in a dimly lit room circulated on social media platforms.
In the video, the woman is heard screaming as one man rapes her, with the others talking in mother tongue and waiting for their turn to commit the heinous act.
A report filed at Olbutyo Police Station says that the incident took place at Chebanyiny village in Kimaya sub-location, Chepalungu Constituency.
“Following the circulation of pornography video purported to have taken place at Chebanyiny village of Kimaya sub location m/r 990905 about 3kms west of the station, Police officers together with area chief and nyumba kumi elders conducted the operation at the said area and managed to arrest seven suspects among them two have been identified,” the report reads.
The suspects have been placed in police custody for interrogation even as investigations into the incident continues.
