Baba Talisha's Warning to Young Men on "Wamama" and Quick Riches

Kenyan tiktoker and influencer Faustine Babatalisha has sparked heated conversation online after issuing a stern warning to young men against chasing after older women, known locally as “wamama”, or joining secret societies in pursuit of quick riches.

In a passionate post shared on Instagram stories, Babatalisha did not mince his words. He accused many young men of mistaking success for shortcuts such as depending on “sugar mummies” or seeking membership in organisations like the Freemasons.

“Success Without Dignity Is Slavery”

Addressing his audience directly, Babatalisha emphasised that real success has nothing to do with dubious connections or financial handouts.

“Let me tell you something — real life is not about cheap shortcuts. Success without dignity is slavery.”

He added that relying on others for wealth and status leaves one permanently dependent, comparing it to being “a beggar in another man’s kingdom.”

Exposing a Growing Trend

To drive his point home, Babatalisha shared private messages he had received from young men asking for help to be connected with wealthy women.

In one exchange, a follower begged him to “nifuatia mumama” (find me a sugar mummy), citing financial struggles.

The influencer used the messages as an example of how widespread the problem has become. He lamented that instead of building their own futures, some young men are busy searching for shortcuts that ultimately rob them of dignity and self-respect.

Work Smart, Build Legacy

Babatalisha advised the youth to adopt a smarter and more principled approach to life. According to him, quick money may appear tempting, but it never lasts. What endures is hard-earned success and self-respect.

He urged young men to:

Work smart instead of chasing easy deals.

Protect their dignity and avoid paths that bring shame.

Focus on legacy, becoming the kind of men their children will admire and emulate.

“Be the man that your children will call a role model,” he declared, reinforcing his message that the ultimate reward of discipline and integrity is a legacy that outlives temporary riches.

Fans React

Babatalisha’s tough-love approach triggered lively debate across social media. Some fans applauded his boldness, praising him for speaking openly about an issue many shy away from.

They agreed that his message was a much-needed wake-up call in an era where toxic hustle culture and get-rich-quick schemes dominate.

Others, however, felt his criticism was harsh, noting that many young people turn to desperate measures because of limited opportunities and financial hardship.

Still, most agreed that while economic struggles are real, chasing older women or joining secret societies is not a sustainable solution.

A Timely Reminder

Faustine Babatalisha’s remarks come at a time when conversations about morality, dignity, and the pressures facing young men are intensifying online.

His message stands out as a reminder that shortcuts to success often come at the expense of self-worth.

In the end, his advice is simple but powerful: quick money fades, but self-respect and hard-earned success last forever.
