Taarab singer and Zuchu's mother Khadija Kopa has addressed the persistent rumors regarding her daughter's relationship with award-winning and Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond Platnumz.

Speaking to Wasafi Media, Khadija clarified that Diamond Platnumz hasn't fulfilled the necessary cultural steps to be officially considered Zuchu's husband.

Khadija emphasised that according to their cultural tradition, a person is officially recognised as being in a relationship with a woman only after adhering to certain customs, particularly the payment of dowry.

Despite much speculation and media attention regarding the relationship between Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz, Khadija clarified that the exact nature of their relationship remains unknown to her.

She claimed that Zuchu was yet to officially introduce her lover to her urging potential suitors to express their interest since Diamond had not officially married her daughter.

"Mahusiano yake siyajui sababu mahusiano tunayoyajua sisi wazee kwa utaratibu wa utamaduni wetu mtu akija kiposa ndio unayajua mahusiano. Lakini mahusiano ya nje siyajui. Anayajua yeye mwenyewe kwa hilo muulize yeye mwenyewe,Ila bado hajaposwa, hakuna mahari. Kama kuna mtu ana mapesa yake aje, sio pesa nyingi. Simba hajamuoa wala hajaleta mahari, sio mumewe wala sio mchumba wake, mtu mwingine yeyote anawezakuja."

Recently, Zuchu addressed her relationship with Diamond after rumours of their separation emerged.

To further dispel the rumours, the two kissed publicly during a performance as they reaffirmed their bond and vowed to commit to one another.
