"We are remembered by good deeds" Sonko reveals the inspiration behind his generosity

Mike Sonko has a good reason why he donates so generously to Kenyans in need.

The Former Nairobi Governor always comes to the help of Kenyans who either approach him or find himself tagged online to offer a helping hand.

This weekend, the former Governor opened up about his philanthropic efforts in a heartwarming note.

"Habari za asubuhi watu wangu. I received a message from a friend asking me what inspires me to be generous and this is what I told him. Nilimwambia kuwa kwangu, ukarimu ni njia ya kufuata mfano wa Yesu," he said.

He generously donates money to good causes.

" Yesu alikuja duniani kama binadamu mnyenyekevu sana. He gave up his comfort/security and lived among the poor and the oppressed. Not all of us were born with a silver spoon."

From pocket money to school fees, labor and delivery fees, and rehab, Sonko has warmed the hearts of Kenyans.

His upbringing has seen him rise from grass to grace. He extends this blessing for this reason

"Some of us came from nothing and we know how it feels to have nothing. We know the pain of hunger, hopelessness, and the shame of rejection. We know what it means to be in need and we know what it means to receive help from others," Sonko noted.

Sonkoree sought to encourage Kenyans through his message to also offer the little they can afford

"I know sometimes life can be hard but let us not be stingy or selfish with the little that we have. Life is temporary and when we are gone, we shall be remembered by our good deeds"
