Last year, comedian Oga Obinna made headlines following allegations that he had found himself a sponsor (mumama)—a wealthy older woman who supposedly funded his lifestyle and helped finance his Obinna Live Show.

Obinna chose not to address the rumours, leading many to believe they were true. However, his silence was merely a "time will tell" strategy, and indeed, the truth has now come to light.

Recently, the alleged sponsor, was exposed by her own cousin, —the very person who had previously contributed to tarnishing Obinna’s reputation.

According to the cousion, the alleged sponsor had borrowed a loan of Ksh700,000 from him but failed to repay it as agreed.

Seeking a resolution, the cousin reached out to Obinna, knowing he had a past relationship with the sponsor and would understand the situation.

Noe Obinna has finally spoken out, alleging shocking details about the entire ordeal. In an Instagram post, he stated:

"Acheni niongee! ‘Mumama’ wa mine chake ki motoni. I told her for me to help, she must make a video stating the truth. Aseme Character Development nilitandikwa, Brand and character assassination nilitandikwa coz nilikataa mapenzi za kufosi… matokeo nilipigwa… kipindi nilipangiwa na nikapigwa hii Nairobi, nikanyang’anywa kila kitu, nikaitwa mwizi, nikaitwa Ben10, nikanyamaza nikatoka kwa upole, nikaanza kila kitu from zero. (I always walk away from trouble; it is easier and better, plus I don’t fight with women). Online nikaitwa majina zote."

The Truth Unfolds

It was later revealed that the alleged sponsor was not a sponsor but Obinna’s ex-girlfriend.

During their relationship, Obinna had allegedly left her in his house, granting her full ownership.

In addition, she was left with his V8 vehicle and Ksh1.8 million, which was meant as a loan to help her keep the car, as it was nearly repossessed due to unpaid debts.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the alleged sponsor had outstanding debts amounting to Ksh12 million.

Despite the revelations, the alleged sponsor has yet to issue a statement.
