The event sadly experienced a setback when high winds disrupted the ceremony before kickoff. The strong winds saw the ceremony pushed back to 8 PM GMT and 6:30 PM GMT for the Red Carpet.

The livestream event also saw disruptions, with online viewers left disappointed as all the broadcast channels couldn't proceed as planned

The audience got to enjoy performances from Rwanda's Bruce Melodie, who was joined by Tanzania’s Harmonize to perform their hit Zanzibar, a song released a year ago.

Nigerian artistes Rema, Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, Ali Kiba, Zuchu, Marioo, Fally Ipupa, Innos B, Gaz Mawete, Titom and Yuppe, and Senegalese Wally Seck all took to the stage, thrilling fans.
