Tatiana Karanja aka Mama Olive shares challenges of being a single mother

Tatiana Karanja, famously known as Mama Olive (her social media handles moniker) is letting the public in on her struggles as a single mother of 3 young girls all aged under 10 years.

Mama Olive, an award-winning photographer, digital content creator, and budding events hostess notes despite how hard she tries to hold everything in place and the image she portrays on social media which makes her life seem like a walk in the park, she has moments when things spiral.

“You make motherhood look so easy,” is one of the comments I get most and while I absolutely adore being a mom, let’s get real—motherhood is really hard!! And I’m feeling it amplified a little, well a lot, as a single mom. 💕" the mother of 3 wrote in part as she shared an emotional video of herself on the verge of tears on her media feed.

She went on to acknowledge that parenting in general is an uphill task detailing that when you are doing it without a second pair of helping hands the task just gets more daunting.

"Some days, it feels like I’m carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, and I know I’m not alone in this.

Parenting is a tough journey for everyone, and it can be even more challenging when you’re doing it on your own. I want to remind all of you out there to give yourselves grace. It’s okay to have those tough days; you’re not alone in feeling overwhelmed," her post read in part.

Finally, Tatiana revealed she was showing off her vulnerable side to the general public as a way of humanizing herself and showcasing she does not have it easy contrary to what the public might think.

"I’ve always aimed to be open and real about my experiences, but I realize I haven’t shared as many vulnerable moments lately. Many of my days include breakdowns and challenges that don’t always make the highlight reel.

Yet, through it all, I’ve built an incredible community over the past eight years, and I am so grateful for each of you. 💕

I created Motherhood Unplugged because I realized that support for moms is often lacking, and that’s a huge part of the struggle. For those who don’t know, it’s a space where we can come together and share the realities of our journeys. It’s hard to put into words what we go through, especially to those who haven’t experienced it.

So, to all the moms out there: you are valued, you are seen, you are heard, and your struggles are valid. Everything you’re thinking and feeling is absolutely legitimate. Please remember that, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. We’re in this together! 💖
