Takid Master opens up about his marriage to two wives who live together in one house

Takid Master, who proudly refers to himself as the "President of Polygamy," recently spoke to Tuko where he shared insights into his polygamous lifestyle and how he manages it.

He has two wives, Cecilia and Mariam, and they all live together under one roof.

Takid firmly believes polygamy is natural for men, saying, "I know how to deal with it. Why hide? All men are polygamous by nature. Even if they deny it, it's not a lie. We're like dogs—if you see a rabbit, you want to chase it; if you see an antelope, you want to chase it."

He takes pride in being the sole breadwinner of the household, paying all the bills. When it comes to their sleeping arrangements, Cecilia explained, "I think you get used to it. At the end of the day, you both leave the living room, and you see him go to the other room. The heart calms down because you know whose turn it is. There's no back and forth, like asking why he slept in the other room. Even my body has learned to adjust."

Mariam also shared her perspective: "This relationship is between you and your man. So when he’s with her, you can't allow yourself to listen in or interfere. If it's not your turn, just wait—he's still your man, and he will come back to you."

The two women officially met each other while both were pregnant—Cecilia was six months along, and Mariam was two months.

Takid explained how he handles conflicts between his wives: "If it's on your side, handle it on your own. Carry your own cross. Conflicts arise in different ways, but they all know how to manage them."

Mariam admitted to initially struggling with jealousy. "I was very jealous. This was my first love, and it was tough, but now I’ve matured."

Cecilia also shared her feelings, saying, "You can’t pretend you're immune to jealousy or pain. But at the end of the day, this man loves two wives. What can you do? If you've accepted 'for better or for worse,' then you have to deal with the worse to enjoy the better."

However, Cecilia also revealed that, if she could turn back time, she would not choose polygamy again.

Takid met both women while training in martial arts. They described him as dark and handsome—qualities that drew them to him.

Takid acknowledged this, saying, "I think she saw the darkness in me—dark and handsome. That’s when I told Cecilia there was another woman. I wanted to be real with her—I had fallen in love."

Cecilia had suspected Takid of cheating before he confessed. She shared how she confronted him: "With my instincts, I sensed he had started something.

He would come home late, or sometimes not at all. He said he was staying with his senior students, but my heart told me he was cheating.

So I confronted him and told him, 'If you're cheating, why don’t you just bring that woman here? Why pretend you're going to work when there's something else going on?'"

Takid also expressed his openness to taking on more wives, clarifying, "We won't use the word 'cheating.' I'm not cheating—I'm adding. I’m trying to help society in a way."
