A Mama Mboga based in Nairobi stunned congregants of the New Life Church after she gave Ksh 6 million handed to her by Nairobi CIDs to Pastor Ezekiel Odero.
Speaking during a live service on February 3, 2024, the businesswoman narrated what transpired as she asked the pastor to bless the money.
Giving an account of events, the troubled lady alleged that she got the money from her son who received the money from officers at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) - (Presently DCI).
According to the woman, the officers retrieved the money from her son's car and headed to the nearest bank to exchange it for Kenyan currency.
Afterwards, the officers accompanied by her son visited her at her residence along Jogoo Road, they then claimed their share of Ksh4 million and handed her Ksh6 million before instructing her to board the vehicle.
Shortly after, the officers dropped her at her stall in Burma Market before disappearing with her son to an unknown destination.
"Pastor sijui nifanye nini ama niseme nini, nililetewa pesa, dollar za kutoka nchi za nje, na zilikua katika gari ya kijana wangu kama mimi nauza mboga, nlitoka mwishowe macid wakakuja wakaleta pesa, rafiki ya kijana, walienda kwa bank wabadilisha pesa ikafika millioni kumi, kumaliza wakakuja mahali nilikua nauza mboga wakanipatia millioni sita, wakenda na kijana wangu," she told the congregation.
Following the outcome of events, the woman headed to the altar to seek the pastor's assistance out of fear that the amount in question may have been proceeds of crime.
She also expressed fear of her son's fate as she was unable to find her son.
The pastor vowed to hold the funds and keep them safe for the woman as she looked for her son. He also promised to provide security for her till the situation gets better.
"Hivi ndio tutafanya, I will keep the money safe for you. Go and look for your son, know his location and health status. I will give you a place to stay until we know the truth. My security will accompany you to record a statement. When the police want more details, we will comply so that the money can get back to its rightful owner," he stated.
