Shenseea talks about dating multiple men to find the best partner

As Kenyans eagerly await the highly anticipated concert by Chinsea Linda Lee, popularly known as Shenseea, later this year, the "Hit and Run" hitmaker is continuing her world tour.

Her latest single, "Dating SZN," which talks about dating multiple men simultaneously to find the best partner, has sparked controversy.

Critics have accused her of promoting immorality and encouraging promiscuity among young girls.

In the lyrics of the song, Shenseea defends her actions, stating that dating different men helps her ensure she picks the right candidate.

During a brief stopover in Bali, Indonesia, the dancehall star engaged with her fans via a live session on social media.

While talking about what it takes to win her love, she playfully mentioned, "I don't want a man to tell me he loves me if he can't get my name tattooed."

She giggled and added, "Okay, that's not love." Shenseea is expected to perform in Kenya at a New Year’s Eve concert, adding to the excitement surrounding her visit.

In 2022, Shenseea opened up about her dating life in a candid interview on The Breakfast Club, an American syndicated radio show.

At the time, she revealed that she had been in a relationship and that her longest relationship lasted three years, having only dated two men.

She spoke about the challenges female celebrities face when it comes to dating, saying, "I’ve seen how they may classify females as 'hoes' because they break up with this one, then with another one."

She further explained the complexities of dating while in the public eye.

"As a female, when you have so much going on for you—money, fame—you don’t know if a regular guy is really good for you. You don’t know if they want money, fame, or if they’re trying to set you up because they have nothing to lose."

She added, "You need to be with someone who also has something to lose, but even if things don’t work out or they abuse you, should you stay to please the public?"
