Samidoh: A man who truly loves you may lie to you out of concern

Kenyan singer Samidoh Muchoki has once again ignited discussion online with a recent social media post.

The popular musician, known for his hit songs and complex personal life, shared a photo from a past music video shoot with fellow artist Joyce wa Mamaa.

His caption sparked reactions: "A man that loves you will always lie to you because he cares about your feelings. He would rather lie to you than hurt your feelings."

This statement has stirred a buzz among his fans and followers, many debating its implications, especially in the context of Samidoh's well-publicised relationships.

Samidoh, who is in the spotlight not only for his music but also for his relationships with his wife, Edday Nderitu, and Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, the mother of two of his children, frequently finds himself trending on social media. Despite the frequent attention, the singer remains unfazed by the scrutiny.

In a previous interview, Samidoh acknowledged the challenges that come with fame but emphasised that he has learned to live with it.

"If I didn’t love the life I am living, I would have hanged myself a long time ago. Life has its challenges, but you have to focus and live on," he said.

Samidoh also noted that being a trending topic doesn’t bother him anymore, stating that even his superiors in the disciplined forces have become accustomed to his name constantly making headlines.

"I honestly never understand how I end up trending, and that’s why I never try to defend or explain anything to my bosses whenever I’m trending because I have no idea how it always happens," he explained.

The singer, who balances his music career with his duties as a police officer, says he has come to accept the drama that comes with being a public figure.

"There is a cost to everything. When I was grazing cattle in Ol Jorook, I would never have trended because I was a nobody. But now that I’m famous, there’s bound to be some negativity. What’s important is to know how to balance it. Life is a balance sheet; there will always be good and bad things, and the best thing to do is block your ears and focus," he added.
