Popular personality Nigerian Regina Daniels has opened up about how her family had initially refused her to marry her much older hubby.

The 24-year-old Nollywood actress got married to the 63-year-old when she was only 19 years. In an Instagram live, Daniels said before marrying her husband, she dated different men.

"Your boyfriend should not stop you from finding your husband. This is real life talk," she said.

Adding, "I had like 20 boyfriends at that time."

She added that she had categorized them giving each boyfriend a responsibility. She said she was shocked when people on social media said she didn't have a choice.

She spilled the beans that her mother was against her union with the politician, "Mummy was against the marriage, my whole family said no."

The couple has for a long time been the talk of the internet due to their big age gap. 

They got married in 2019 and share two children. Nwoko is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and previously held the position of Member of the Federal House of Representatives of Nigeria from 1999 to 2003.
