Rapper Lil Wayne Drops Tha Carter VI Album

Lil Wayne is promoting the album through the Tha Carter VI Tour, which kicks off on July 30 and ends on October 2, featuring Tyga and special guests NoCap and Belly Gang Kushington.

 

The album opens with "King Carter" and includes collaborations with renowned artists like Bono, Wyclef Jean, and Andrea Bocelli.

 

American rap icon Lil Wayne released his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter VI, marking his return to solo music after a five-year hiatus.

 

Tha Carter VI, released on June 6, is the sixth installment in Lil Wayne's iconic series and consists of 19 tracks.

 

The album features various guest artists, including Big Sean, MGK, Kodak Black, and Wayne's children, Kameron Carter and Little Novi.

 

Notably absent from the tracklist are expected collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Drake, disappointing some fans.

In an interview, Wayne emphasized that every album is a long process, expressing gratitude for the achievements that come with releasing Tha Carter VI.

 

Lil Wayne teased additional collaborations, including an unconfirmed track using a Billie Eilish sample and various featured artists he worked with during the album's creation.

 

The tour will cover 34 cities in the U.S. and Canada, celebrating more than 20 years of the Tha Carter series.

 

His first performance following the album's release was at Madison Square Garden, celebrating with fans before starting the tour. Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., Lil Wayne is a highly influential American rapper recognized as one of the greatest artists in hip hop history.

 

He was discovered by Birdman at age eleven and signed to Cash Money Records in 1993, becoming the label's flagship artist until 2018.

 

He started his career in duos and groups like B.G.'z and Hot Boys, achieving mainstream success with albums like "Guerrilla Warfare" (1999).

 

His first solo album, "Tha Block Is Hot" (1999), marked his rise to fame, leading to a series of successful albums, including the "Tha Carter" series.

 

Lil Wayne revolutionized the mixtape scene in the 2000s, which contributed significantly to his popularity and artistic development.

 

"Tha Carter III" (2008) was a career high point, selling over a million copies in its first week and earning him a Grammy for Best Rap Album.

 

He faced challenges during his career, including an eight-month jail sentence in 2010, during which he released the album "I Am Not a Human Being."

 

His albums have consistently sold well, with "Tha Carter IV" and "Tha Carter V" maintaining his presence in the music industry.
