Renowned media personality and Radio Jambo presenter Lion Deh has shared details about the tragic circumstances leading to his son’s untimely death.
In an interview with Mpasho, Lion revealed that his son sustained a head injury after falling from the living room sofa while playing.
The boy was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where a CT scan revealed internal bleeding in the brain. He underwent a three-hour surgery, which was initially deemed successful.
“Thank you for your comforting messages and prayers as my family and I try to come to terms with God’s will. Lion fell from the living room sofa while playing and injured his head, causing convulsions. We rushed him to the nearest medical center, Metropolitan Hospital, where a CT scan showed internal bleeding in the head. He was taken into surgery for three hours, and the operation was successful,” Lion shared with Mpasho.
However, Lion disclosed that his son’s condition did not improve after the surgery. Due to brain swelling from the injury, he was admitted to the ICU.
“Because of the nature of the injury, his brain began to swell. He was kept in the ICU, with doctors hoping the swelling would subside. Unfortunately, the injury was too severe, and he was declared clinically brain-dead. His life was being supported by machines,” Lion explained.
Tragically, the young boy passed away on January 8, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., surrounded by his parents and other family members.
“After a courageous fight in the ICU, Lion ascended to heaven on the morning of January 8, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. and 43 seconds, with his mom, dad, uncles, and aunties by his side. It’s been a heartbreaking start to the year for our family, and we deeply appreciate your support and prayers,” Lion added.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Lion Deh and his family during this difficult time.
