Police explain what led to Fred Omondi's sudden demise
Fred Omondi tragically passed away following a bodaboda accident, according to police reports. The motorcycle he was riding was struck by a speeding bus, causing both rider and passenger to fall onto the road.
Police said he suffered multiple injuries on his legs and hands. Omondi was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment, as confirmed by authorities and witnesses at the scene.
Fred Omondi, younger brother of renowned comedian and activist Eric Omondi, had carved a niche for himself in the comedy world as a popular events emcee and former member of the esteemed Churchill Show.
In a previous interview, he credited his brother Eric for inspiring him to pursue comedy as a career. Before his untimely death, Fred had plans to spend the weekend in Meru, as he had shared on his Instagram stories.
His sudden demise has left his fans and fellow comedians in deep shock and sorrow.
Terence Creative, mourning Fred's loss, described him not only as a colleague but as a brother with whom he had shared the stage countless times, significantly influencing his own career growth. "He was family," Terence remarked.
