Controversial televangelist Pastor Ng'ang'a, has asked not to be linked to his grandson's medical appeal case noting that the matter is well beyond him.
The pastor's eldest daughter Naomi Wangari Maina had earlier on released a message appealing to Kenyans for financial aid. Naomi noted the money she is aiming to raise is to support her 6-year-old son, Jonathan Wise, who is currently battling a severe case of B-ALL Leukemia.
The singer and evangelist, who seemingly chose to follow in her father's footsteps, revealed that her son was currently admitted to hospital receiving treatment whose cost is estimated to be Sh4.5 million. Naomi shared a video of her seated in bed next to her son as she went on to highlight his medical journey and the predicament they currently were at as she appealed to Kenyans for financial help.
Jonathan's woes began two weeks after his birth on January 20, 2018, when he was diagnosed with Bilateral Retinoblastoma, an uncommon form of eye cancer.
However, Ng'ang'a seems to have "reservations" when it comes to his grandson's health case and has asked explicitly not to be linked with the case.
"At this moment, I prefer not to be linked to that particular case. I have my reservations regarding it,” said when contacted by Nairobi News in regards to little Jonathan's medical appeal.
Interestingly, back in 2020, pastor Ng'ang'a's family managed to organize a fundraiser, and came up with enough cash to enable little Jonathan to undergo treatment in India. Sadly, it seems the little boy is yet to fully recover.
Naomi was born when Ng'ang'a was still a herdsman in Kinangop before he separated from his then-girlfriend. She and her dad first met in 2007, and during the interview, she disclosed that they share a close relationship.
