Kenyan artist KRG the Don is making waves with his latest song featuring Jamaican artist Konshens, and he has a unique request for Kenyans.
During a radio interview in the country, KRG expressed his desire for Kenyans to support him for just one year to bring about positive changes in the music scene.
He emphasised that he doesn't seek long-term support, only one year to transform the landscape of Kenyan music.
KRG envisions becoming a one-man army to change the face of Kenyan music, specifically aiming to break the perceived limits on the global reach of Kenyan music. His plea is for fans to support him, not necessarily other local artists.
KRG outlined his goals, stating that he wants to eliminate the notion that there's a ceiling on the success of Kenyan music.
He aims to prove that Kenyan artists can achieve international recognition and earn money from countries like the United States.
KRG said he desired a level of respect for Kenyan artists similar to that given to global stars like Burna Boy and Wizkid.
He envisioned Kenyan artists being respected worldwide, not just within the Kenyan community abroad
KRG added that with even a small amount of support from Kenyans, he can make a significant impact, becoming a global sensation worldwide.
He shared that his connection with Konshens dates back to 2017, but he was initially preoccupied with business matters at the time.
Now, as an artist, KRG is ready to showcase his musical talents and hopes for the backing of his fellow Kenyans to make a substantial mark on the world stage.
