Comedian-turned-content creator Oga Obinna has broken his silence, explaining why he decided to wish himself a happy Mother's Day despite being a man.
Speaking to Jackie Ogaga, Obinna explained that for a long time, there has been a joke surrounding him about how he raises his children from different mothers.
He said that he decided to wish himself a happy Mother's Day because he also finds himself fulfilling the roles of a mother in the lives of his children from three different baby mamas.
“Normally, we have this long-running joke that I am the mother and father to my kids. But you know my kids have their mothers and they are in their lives as well, doing the much as they can. So, normally it’s just a joke that we do,” Obinna clarified.

In a video with his kids, Obinna is seen asking them whether they knew the significance of May 11 of every year, and all of them said it’s Mother’s Day special.
He then asked each to face the camera and wish their mothers a happy Mother’s Day before concluding by wishing himself a Happy Mother’s Day to the amusement of the children.
He however said, immediately he finished wishing himself a happy Mothers’ Day, he felt like the kids were left stranded in thought, maybe thinking he is a member of the queer community, but he clarified it as a long standing joke.
“When I did it, even the girls were looking at me with suspicious eyes, like ‘are you gay’ or something, but we laughed about it and I told them it was fine. So that is a long-time joke that we’ve always been doing,” he asserted.

Asked to choose one of the 3 babymamas to celebrate exclusively on Mother’s Day, Obinna said he can’t choose one and leave the other out since all of them are important in his life, and in a special way.
“I’ll choose all of them because they all gave me unique children; there’s none that I’m particularly inclined to. They’ve all shown me their own side of pepper, I’ve also shown them my side of pepper, but we’ve given birth to some amazing kids. So all of them deserve my Happy Mother’s Day wishes,” he said.
