Nyota Ndogo has once again addressed comments about her skin colour, firmly defending herself and celebrating her dark complexion.
The singer responded to a recent comment on Instagram on Tuesday, November 24, 2025, that said, “shida yako wewe ni mweusi sana,” by stating, “Sasa nakujibu. Hii rangi sio eti ni gali. Ni haipatikani dukani. Kwaivyo ni special.”
This is not the first time Nyota Ndogo has spoken out on this issue. She has consistently addressed remarks about her dark complexion, pushing back against the idea that lighter skin is the ideal or the “right” skin.
In today’s modern beauty standards, many people still associate fairness with beauty, but Nyota Ndogo’s stance challenges this perception and encourages self-love and confidence among dark-skinned individuals.
Nyota Ndogo is not the only celebrity facing criticism because of skin colour. Other public figures, like TikToker Imo Unusual, have also confronted negative comments about their dark skin.

Imo Unusual has repeatedly expressed pride in her complexion, saying she loves being a dark-skinned woman and encouraging others to embrace their natural skin tones.
Both Nyota Ndogo and Imo Unusual represent a growing movement of public figures who are actively challenging the harmful notion that lighter skin is superior.
Criticism about skin colour remains a sensitive issue in Kenya and across the world, often fueled by outdated beauty standards and social media trends. Many young people are influenced by these ideas, believing that lighter skin equates to success, beauty, or social acceptance.
However, voices like Nyota Ndogo’s and Imo Unusual’s are helping to reshape this narrative by promoting confidence and self-acceptance.
Nyota Ndogo’s recent comment reinforces her commitment to celebrating her individuality. She continues to stand up for herself and for others who face similar scrutiny because of their natural skin tone.
Nyota Ndogo is not only defending herself but also contributing to the conversation about confidence, identity, and self-love in the modern world.
