Popular Nigerian actress Ini Edo has shut down claims that she is getting married. The speculation ruled the internet after she shared a photo downing a traditional wedding attire.

"That bright sunday morning 6 months ago while on vacation, we crossed paths and our lives never remained the same. Exactly 3 months later you asked me to be with you forever. How did i get so lucky? They say ‘your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you’ i now believe this whole heartedly. 1 of 3 done. My fairytale wedding is almost here. To anyone out there who has given up on their happily ever after, Love will find you, and when it does, ready or not, it’ll be the best thing that ever happened to you," she has written on Instagram, turns out she was advertising her upcoming series

Speaking to a Nigerian-based newspaper, Edo watered down the rumours.

"I’m not crazy about marriage; I’m crazy about having a solid relationship. I’m not hoping, and it’s not any of my prayer points."

Her statement comes few years after her divorce. She was married to a Nigerian businessman in 2008 and called the marriage off in 2014.

Months after her divorce she shared a statement, saying she would not be explaining herself to people about the divorce.

"Let me be frank with you, I have not spoken with anybody concerning the breakup of my marriage. And I am not going to say anything about it. It’s my past and I have put it where it belongs. So, let it remain like that," she said.

Adding;

“I don’t care whatever people might have said or written as the cause of the breakup; that’s their business. I have not granted anybody any interview and I won’t do that. It’s my private life, you guys should please let me be."

She welcomed a baby girl in 2021 via a surrogate.
