Mp Peter Salasya Abducted by heavily armed men posing as DCI, bodyguards disarmed

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya claimed that he has been ambushed along the Isiolo-Nanyuki highway.

This was after having finished his rally in Isiolo as part of his 2027 presidential campaign tour.

In a statement posted on his official Instagram account, it gives a blow by blow detailed account of a terrifying ambush by heavily armed individuals who claimed to be Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers.

According to the narrative, the attackers intercepted his convoy, disarmed his security team, and confiscated their firearms.

He alleges that they shot at his vehicle, targeting him directly, and immobilized it by shooting out the tires.

One of his security personnel reportedly escaped and helped him flee into a nearby bush for safety.

However, the same staement claims that the assailants, armed with at least 15 AK-47 rifles, confronted him with a "chilling message" he, Salasya, could not disclose for security reasons.

"I have not been mentioning the government in my rallies, and I have stayed true to my call for peace and progress," the statement reads in part.

The statement further alleged that the vocal MP was being taken to an unknown location, and urged all relevant authorities and the public to take note of what is happening.

The Instagram post was accompanied by images of a vehicle with punctured tires.

He further urged Kenyans stand for truth and justice saying that he shall not be cowed.

This incident follows a similar event earlier this month when Salasya narrowly escaped an alleged arrest attempt at a Mombasa hotel, which he also described as a politically motivated abduction plot.
