More Than Just Money: Socialite Kate Thuku on Why She Can’t Find Love

Kenyan socialite Kate Thuku has spoken candidly about her relationship status, explaining why she has chosen to remain single despite the pressure that often comes with being in the public eye.

According to Thuku, she values love, desire, and commitment, but says the modern dating scene has left her disappointed.

"I am not dating because I want romance," she said. "I do not like traditional guys because I am a modern lady. Traditional guys have a lot of rules on how ladies should look."

In a world dominated by instant messaging and fast-moving interactions, Kate says she misses the kind of romance that came with handwritten letters, phone calls, and genuine pursuit.

"Nowadays it is hard to date the modern way because there are fewer romantics. I love written letters. I want someone who will chase me," she emphasized.

Her words reflect a growing sentiment among women who feel that dating has become too transactional, with little effort from men to show consistent affection.

A Modern Woman with Modern Standards

Interestingly, Kate draws a clear line between being a modern woman and desiring romance.

While she rejects "traditional men" who, in her words, impose too many rules on how women should dress or behave, she insists that romance is timeless and should not be compromised.

Her take has sparked online debates, with many women agreeing that the art of romance is fading in today’s fast-paced world, while others argue that expectations around courtship have simply evolved.

Choosing Fulfillment Over Pressure

Kate’s remarks highlight an important point about relationships today: more women are choosing to remain single rather than settling for relationships that don’t meet their emotional needs.

For Thuku, being single is not a sign of lack but of self-awareness. "I know what I want," she concluded, "and I won’t settle for anything less."
