The Kenya Meteorological Department now says that parts of the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-eastern Lowlands, and Western Kenya will receive rain this week.
In its weekly weather advisory published on Monday, November 24, Kenya Met said that while most parts of Kenya were expected to remain dry and sunny, therefore mentioned areas will receive rain in moderate amounts.
The counties forecasted to receive rains between Tuesday, November 25, and Monday, November 31, include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira and Trans Nzoia.
Others are Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, West Pokot, Baringo and Uasin Gishu counties.
In the Central highlands, light showers were expected in the course of the week and would affect the counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi.

According to the meteorological department, the light rains in these counties would begin in the morning, followed by sunny conditions and another series of showers in the evening.
This comes even as most parts of the country continue to experience sunny and dry conditions, with the latest report indicating that the sunny weather will be prolonged.
While November to December have in the past been associated with short rains which mostly begin in late September and end in late December, this year seems to be different.
In the weekly advisory, the weather department warned of very cold nights in some parts of the country, particularly in the Central Highlands, North and Central Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and areas near Mt Kilimanjaro.
Counties in these regions include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi. Others are Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia
According to the meteorological department, the aforementioned regions were projected to experience temperatures below 10°C for most days of the forecast period.
Additionally, daytime temperatures above 30°C are expected in the Coast, North-eastern, North-western Kenya, and parts of the South-eastern Lowlands, Rift Valley, and Western Kenya.
