Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Mbosso Khan has addressed the online chatter sparked by his recent visit to his hometown of Kibiti, following his quiet exit from Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB), the influential music label owned by Diamond Platnumz.
The soulful hitmaker—celebrated for chart-toppers like "Kupenda," "Over," "Umechelewa," and "Amepotea"—clarified that his remarks about returning to the village had been widely misunderstood.
His low-key trip to Kibiti stirred speculation online, with many interpreting it as a sign that his music career had taken a downturn. However, Mbosso was quick to set the record straight.
“Sometimes, social life is enjoyable, and other times it becomes exhausting,” he explained. “Going back to Kibiti doesn’t mean I’m struggling. It’s my home. That’s where my relatives and childhood friends are—and I’m involved in other things there besides music.”

Since parting ways with WCB after nearly seven years, the "Hodari" singer has been noticeably quiet on the music scene, prompting fans to demand new releases. Mbosso acknowledged their concerns, assuring them that fresh material is on the way.
“I’ve seen how eager my fans are. I appreciate it,” he said. “I’ve taken a bit of time to put things in place. Some songs are already done, and others are still being worked on. The wait won’t be much longer.”

Addressing reports that his exit from WCB came with hefty conditions, Mbosso revealed that Diamond Platnumz had released him without demanding a payout.
“You won’t believe it. After seven years under WCB, I wasn’t asked to pay anything when I left. That was a great act of love,” he shared.
With new music in the pipeline and a firm connection to his roots, Mbosso now embarks on the next phase of his journey—rooted in self-reflection, creativity, and freedom.
