Despite her rocky love life, award-winning actress Jackie Matubia remains a certified lover girl.

Speaking during a recent interview, the mother of two affirmed her belief that marriage is not a scam. She noted that despite going through two failed unions, she is a believer in matrimony.

Further, Matubia stated that she is a proud single mother adding that she will focus on the upsides of her situation.

"You know the kind of peace that comes with being a single mother. I'm so proud of who I am. I am a single mother from two failed marriages and who knows if this is what God intended for me. I will not let society look down on me and will teach my girls that it is fine, a failed marriage is not the end of life," she stated.

Adding; "Marriage is not a scam. It is a beautiful institution as long as there is partnership, communication and respect."

The actress announced her split from her actor fiancé Blessing Lung'aho after almost two years of dating in July 2023.

“Proud single mother of two,” she captioned a photo of herself.

The confirmation followed a trail of reports that the celebrity couple’s relationship had hit rocks.

Notably, the duo had made their relationship public via a short film titled 'baby number 2' in February 2022 when Jackie revealed Lung'aho was the father of her unborn child. At the time the two featured in a local drama Zora where they played Nana and Madiba. They depicted a 'struggle love' in the film.

Later in April 2022, the lovebirds got engaged in a highly publicised event before welcoming their baby girl.
