Child actor Malik Lemmy, or Govi as many Kenyans who loved Machachari know him, has announced a big change coming up in his life.
The 23-year-old will be fully shaving his beard and afro and rocking a clean look... all in a bid to feel slightly younger again.
"Shaving my beards and hair fully, today. Need to start looking 16 again," the award-winning actor shared on his Instagram stories.
Malik went on to add that he'd never actually considered growing out his beard but it became a necessity as he grew older and branched out to other areas in life.
The young creative revealed he was tired of sorely being associated with the character Govi whom he embodied in the show Machachari for years.
He noted for a while he felt stuck as that is all people, even in the industry saw him as. Thus came along the beard, a new look signified a different person. But evidently, he is over that, seeing as he has made a few strides in the industry.
"The reason why I decided to grow out a beard and hair was coz I wanted to stop being associated with a character I played for such a long time.
I'm really grateful for the character because it has brought so much blessings to my life but I have so much to offer than being associated with that character," part of his lengthy post read.
Malik noted that he was excited to bring back the baby face, especially now that he was in his mid 20's and felt as if life was rushing past him
"Without hair and a beard, the baby face comes out and reminds people of "Govi" I'm in my mid-twenties now, and a baby face would really help coz time pia inaenda sana manze. Lets see how it goes," the last of his post read.
