Kimani Mbugua appeals for help after getting robbed during a TikTok live

Former TV Host Kimani Mbugua has appealed for help to trace his phone after he was allegedly robbed while Live on TikTok.

Through his socials, Kimani alleged that he was on a morning walk when the incident occurred.

"Guys I was mugged this morning while I was live on Tiktok by a guy with a panga, I was on my morning walk in Jomoko in Thika. I hurt my leg and hand but am doing okay."

He added that he had reported the case to the police.

"I reported the case to Kiandutu police station OB no 05/23/03/24 I am doing okay but I lost my Samsung A34 which you guys bought me, I was producing content with it, Kenya police please help me recover it please."

Six months ago While in a TikTok live session with digital content creator Nyako, who had started the online fundraiser, Kimani expressed his immense gratitude upon realizing that Kenyans had contributed double the amount he had asked for.

In his plea for help KImani had asked Kenyans for exactly Sh200k to start a business as he was struggling financially.

"Niseme au nionyeshe (should I say or go ahead and just show you)?" Said Nyako teasingly as she went on to ask the former TV presenter to guess how much in total netizens had contributed to him.

"So we are at Sh. 420,000!" The digital content creator said excitedly after a dramatic pause and Mbugua could not stop smiling from ear to ear upon hearing the amount.

Nyako went on to appeal to well-wishers to push the contributions to at least Sh500, 000 - which they did.

Expressing his gratitude to Kenyans and netizens in general for coming through Mbugua highlighted that he had not imagined his plea would yield such generous and hefty results.

"Thank you! Thank you so much. I never would have imagined ingekuwa hivi (it would be like this). I am so grateful to all of you. Asanteni sana," Mbugua said as he threw his fist up in the air in jubilation.

During an interview with comedian Oga Obinna the former TV presenter explained how he had been suffering since losing his job in 2020.

He also opened up on battling mental health.
