Actress Catherine Kamau popularly known as Kate Actress on Tuesday added an accolade to her achievements after she received a State commendation from President William Ruto.

The renowned actress was feted with the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya alongside 239 others during the Jamhuri Day celebrations held at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.

The thespian took to her Instagram to share the news with her fans saying, "CATHERINE KAMAU OGW ! (Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya ) ! HEAD OF STATE COMMENDATION from his excellency the president Dr. William Samoei Ruto. Won’t he do it?"

The award is presented to individuals in recognition of an outstanding service rendered to the country especially, those who risk their lives to save their fellow citizens.

Since it was established in 1966, notable names such as Former Senate Speaker David Ekwee, Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki, and his defence counterpart Aden Duale have been recipients of the award.
