Nominated senator Karen Nyamu is unapologetic about eloping with her lover and Mugithi artiste Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh and has boldly defended that polygamy should be embraced across the country.
Nyamu who was responding to a quick question by local YouTuber Bennie Experience, noted that polygamy should be allowed because some men are too much for one woman to handle.
The senator also encouraged women to embrace the concept of sharing their men with other women.
"I support polygamy cause kuna wanaume wengine kama Samidoh who are too much for one woman, manzee mbona unataka kua na chali wa nguvu tu pekee yako? Hapana chali wengine ni wa kushariwa, Kubali tu," she said.
Nyamu previously defended her relationship with Samidoh saying that the Kenyan law allows polygamy.
This came even as a section of social media users castigated her for wrecking Samidoh's union with his estranged wife Edday Nderitu.
The senator who was speaking during an interview with a local TV station on Monday, October 9, 2023, noted that her relationship dynamic is recognised by the law.
"Sheria ya Kenya ya polygamy ambayo imepitishwa kwa bunge yetu inaruhusu polygamy, sijavunja sheria yoyote kukua katika situation mimi niko," she stated.
This loosely translates to:
"The Kenyan law on polygamy that was passed in our parliament allows polygamy, I have not broken any law in my situation
