Gospel singer Kambua is a happy mum after her first-born son turned 5.
Kambua conceived Nathaniel after years of childlessness. She had at the time been married for 7 years.
Sharing a photo of her son , she celebrated how he came after she had suffered loss.
This incredible boy of mine turned five yesterday. FIVE y’all! I can’t even believe it ? Wasn’t it just the other day that I made my first ever pregnancy announcement? ? It sure feels like it.Nathaniel (gift of God), is the first of my babies that I ever got to hold. He came after loss, and deep heartache. God has used him to heal me in many ways, and to reignite the faith of so many people.He’s still the chairman of Kosokoso! ? Oh but I love him so.Happy 5th my precious paw patrol boy! I pray that you grow to know the depth of my love for you. God protect and watch over you all the days of your life ❤️
The singer is a mother of three, she lost her second child at birth, her daughter recently turned 2.
In the past Kambua had opened up on being called names because she did not have kids according to the timelines set by the society.
In a post on Instagram, Kambua said she was always asked by people 'Utazaa lini?'
“Utazaa lini”? I’m wearing my heart on my sleeve to sensitize one another on the things we say, and their repercussions. But it’s not only on social media that we have been less than kind… it’s in our families, our workspace, our communities. Have you been a safe space for someone who is struggling with#infertilityor perhaps something else? If not, when you know better, you must do better," she wrote
In a video shared on her 'Being Kambua' podcast, the gospel singer and former TV presenter would experience the same both in real life and on social media.
"You know how you can put a picture on Facebook, wishing people a great day and then somebody comes on there and writes 'Utazaa Lini' and before you know it, its 90 comments under that one comment having a discussion about why you are as 'I was called many times barren" she said
In a past video on her podcast, Kambua revealed she would have been a mother of a six-year-old.
"My name is Kambua (@kambuamuziki ). I am a mother of two (or three, or four)? Nathaniel is my 4 YO, and Nathalie is my 1+ . My baby boy Malachi would be 2, he Iives in heaven now. My first baby would have been six.So you see how complicated it is for angel moms to introduce themselves… some people get it, others don’t, and that’s ok."
She also described her podcast as a safe space that break stigma and taboos surrounding women.
"I began this community because I realized the shocking ignorance surrounding infertility, miscarriages, child loss, and overall maternal health.We can’t carry on with business as usual while women (and men) are falling through the cracks." She wrote on Instagram
She added;
"In this space you will get educated, you will learn how to sympathize and empathize. We will, together learn how to hold space for one another. Because when we know better, we do better. For every person who feels that they don’t have the courage to share their story publicly as my guests graciously have, it’s ok. We will speak for you.I love you all for being here." she wrote
