Jay Z implicated in rape charges

A woman alleging sexual assault by Sean “Diddy” Combs has expanded her lawsuit to include Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, as a defendant.

Initially filed in October, the amended lawsuit accuses Carter of assaulting her at the same party as Combs, marking the first time another celebrity has been implicated in connection with the allegations against Combs.

In a statement shared with Mpasho, Carter vehemently denied the claims, stating, “The allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”

Combs, meanwhile, is facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution-related offenses.

He has pleaded not guilty and has consistently denied the allegations outlined in approximately 30 civil lawsuits filed against him.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, claims she was 13 years old at the time of the alleged assaults, which took place after the 2000 Video Music Awards.

According to the lawsuit, Doe began to feel disoriented after consuming a drink at the party and wandered into a nearby bedroom, where she alleges Carter raped her first, followed by Combs.

She claims she managed to hit Combs and flee the scene. Carter had initially been referred to as “Celebrity A” in the original filing.

Doe’s attorneys reportedly reached out to Carter for mediation, but the lawsuit alleges that Carter responded with intimidation tactics.

“Upon present information and belief, Jay-Z responded to said letter by not only filing an utterly frivolous lawsuit, but by also orchestrating a conspiracy of harassment, bullying, and intimidation against Plaintiff’s lawyers, their families, employees, and former associates in an attempt to silence Plaintiff from naming Jay-Z herein,” the lawsuit states.

“That effort failed. Indeed, Plaintiff chose to file this amendment as a result of the egregious conduct perpetuated by Carter.”

In his response, Carter dismissed the mediation request as a “blackmail attempt” and criticized Doe’s attorney, stating, “This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these types of theatrics!”

Tony Buzbee, the Houston-based attorney representing Jane Doe, stressed the gravity of the case, writing, “The pleading speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter that will be litigated in court.”

Carter also expressed concern for his family, adding, “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age.”
