Jamaican singer Etana expresses disappointment after her show was cancelled

Jamaican reggae queen Etana has expressed her disappointment after her scheduled show was canceled due to a clash with Diamond Platnumz's performance.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, Etana revealed that influential individuals ensured her event was sabotaged, despite months of planning and promotion.

The singer's Saturday night show was abruptly halted, and she accused certain parties of orchestrating a rival event at the same time and venue to discourage her.

It is worth noting that Etana’s concert was scheduled alongside the Furaha Fest, headlined by Bongo Flava king Diamond Platnumz.

"Someone paid a lot of money to ensure my show tonight was disrupted! I’m not happy about this sabotage, and let me be clear—I’m not appearing at Diamond Platnumz’s show! All is well," Etana stated.

"My December 7 show had been promoted for a long time before someone decided to schedule Diamond Platnumz’s event on the same day and at the same venue," she added.

Etana expressed her disappointment, saying her show had been sacrificed for the other and that holding both events simultaneously was impossible.

"Then suddenly, I hear from the authorities that both events cannot happen at the SAME VENUE, and my show tonight cannot proceed."

She questioned why anyone would go to such lengths to disrupt her event, especially as a solo female artist.

"All this drama and politics for one woman? I wonder who's behind this. Why are you afraid of one woman’s show?" she questioned.

However, even as Etana’s show was canceled, reports indicate that Diamond Platnumz’s performance at Furaha Fest also faced challenges.

The artist reportedly left the stage abruptly after a dispute with Kenyan artist Willy Paul, who was scheduled to perform before him.

Furaha Fest was also supposed to feature prominent artists like: Rayvanny, Zuchu, Khaligraph Jones, Ssaru, Kinoti, Willis Raburu, Femi One, and Mejja.
